Jill Killington is best know as a producer and writer on the epic television adaptation of Stephen King’s THE STAND (2020, Paramount+), a prophetic tale of redemption about the struggle for survival after a deadly pandemic ravages the world. The limited event series stars Alexander Skaarsgard, Whoopi Goldberg, James Marsden, Greg Kinnear, Ezra Miller, Amber Heard, Owen Teague, Odessa Young, Nat Wolff, Fiona Dourif, Katherine McNamara, Henry Zaga and more.
Los Angeles based director, writer, and producer Jill Killington started her career in Hollywood as a commercial actor, then produced reality shows before moving into independent film as a writer and executive producer of the Tribeca Film Festival Special Selection, ALL WE HAD, directed by and starring Katie Holmes.
A Jill of All Trades and master of getting it done, Killington worked in commercials as an actor first, then later as a copywriter and campaign creator. She honed her craft in post-production as a story producer and editor for reality tv and the hit Adult Swim comedy LOITER SQUAD starring Odd Future.
Always adaptable, her script KILLER APPETITES attracted attention in Hollywood and lead to her breakthrough as screenwriter on the Tribeca Special Selection ALL WE HAD. Entering a new chapter as a WGA studio screenwriter after years uncredited in reality tv, Killington focused her attention on film adaptations of her favorite epic novels Anne Rice’s INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE (for Universal Studios and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment), and began development on Stephen King’s THE STAND for Warner Brothers in 2014. During this time, Killington also developed Clive Barker’s IMAJICA for MRC and her feature MURDR for Blumhouse, while learning the inner workings of the studio system and the many ways projects end up in turnaround. After years of shepherding a cinematic adaptation of THE STAND for theatrical release, Stephen King’s masterpiece was finally greenlit as a limited event tv series by CBS All Access with Killington serving as a producer and writer on the nine episode show. The star-studded series debuted in 2020, and is currently available on the Paramount + streaming service and Amazon internationally.
